“Wandelkonzerte” with workshop character - new cultural formats
Joel Frederiksen sings from his program "Orpheus, I am".
What is usually lined up like pearls and spread out over weeks at summer festivals, all comes together at the Culture Day at the Gaswerk on September 11 between 3 and 10 pm. Classical music, early music, improvisation, jazz, Cuban music and fusion programs will be heard in parallel in five different rooms on the grounds of the cultural area of the old gasworks. A building-high light installation by the famous video artist Manuela Hartel will enchant people. Visitors will wander through the diversity of fascinating acoustics in the Large and Small Scheibengasbehälter, the Kühlerhaus, the Apparatehaus and the spacious Eventruck on the festival area of the grounds.
In addition, students from various Augsburg schools will play in quartet and octet formations in the event truck on the grounds, and the visual artists on site will open their studios.
