In splendoribus sanctorum: Mikołaj Zieleński and the Sacred motet around 1600

Witness a musical turning point at the dawn of the Baroque. The sacred motets of the Polish composer Mikołaj Zieleński bridge the worlds of Renaissance polyphony and the expressive new language of the early Baroque. At the heart of the programme are virtuosic and rarely performed solo motets and duets from his collections Offertoria totius anni and Communiones totius anni, published in Venice in 1611. These intimate works will be set alongside festive polyphonic motets.
