Claudio Monteverdi's Marian Vespers

On July 9, 2022, singers from the chamber choir of the Augsburg Cathedral Boys' Choir under the direction of Cathedral Kapellmeister Stefan Steinemann will bring the Stadtpfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt in Burgau to life with Claudio Monteverdi's Marian Vespers starting at 7:30 pm.

Claudio Monteverdi's Marian Vespers, originally titled Vespro Della Beata Vergine, is still considered one of the most impressive and virtuosic pieces of church music ever written. In this performance, historical instruments will join forces with the vocal ensemble of the Augsburg Cathedral Boys' Choir, and internationally renowned soloists.
